Meera Mahalingam, MD, PHd, FRCPat
Dr. Mahalingam is Professor of Dermatology, Pathology and Laboratory Medicine,
and Program Director, Dermatopathology Fellowship training at Boston University School of Medicine (BUSM). Meera Mahalingam received her medical degree in India and trained in pathology initially in the UK and subsequently in the USA. She received her Dermatopathology training at BUSM. She joined BUSM in 2007 prior to which she was Director of Dermatopathology, UMASS Medical School.
She is a board certified pathologist and a board certified dermatopathologist. She has published over 105 original articles, and written several book chapters. Her research interests include use of immune-histochemical methods and molecular techniques in diagnosis of skin tumors particularly pigmented lesions.
She has served on the Board of the American Society of Dermatopathology since 2003 as Director of Quality Assurance and Laboratory Proficiency (2003-07), and serves on the editorial boards of the Journal of Cutaneous Pathology (2007-) and Modern pathology (2011-)
